Product alias


The 'Product Alias' button makes it possible to add alias or regional names of a product in different languages. And you can add more than one alias name in the same language for the same product, which can then be viewed in the product section of the billing screen.


How to create product alias name for a product ?

  1. In JB Windows, navigate to Masters > Product to set Product Alias name for the product. From Product page, edit a product. Click on Product Alias.  
  2. Once you do this a pop up opens. Here choose the language for the alias name, add the name and choose it as the default name for the item (see figure 1).


Note: The default check box has been provided so that you can choose which alias name you would like to display by default in case you add more than one name for the item

  1. After you save an item alias name, go to the billing screen and click the three dots beside the search button in the product section. Clicking this button gives you the option to choose between languages (see figure 2).

  1. Since we have added a Hindi alias name for the item Water in Hindi, we will choose the same language from the list. On doing so, the name of the item shows up in Hindi in the product section (see figure 3).
