Chart of accounts


It is a list of all the accounts used by the organization for financial accounting in their organization. It lets you map an account type with the general ledger. You can also select whether a posting for an account type will be broken into sub ledger posting or not (see figure 1).

To define a chart of account type click on the add button on the toolbar of the page. The following pop up will appear. Enter the information as explained below and click on save once done (see figure 2).

Different fields in this pop up are:


GL Code : enter the general ledger code to be associated with the account type

Ledger type : enter the ledger name to be associated with the account type

Description : enter a description of the account type

Ledger : enter the ledger

Sub Ledger Breakup : select the check-box to enable sub ledger wise posting for the general ledger posting done for this account type

SL Group : this is a disabled field and data gets added automatically


You can also edit an entry if required. Clicking on the edit button opens a pop up (see figure 3).
